A just-released report may spell the end to any hope Barack Obama might have had to win reelection:
The wealth gap between whites and each of the nation’s two largest minorities—Hispanics and blacks—has widened to unprecedented levels amid the housing crisis and the recession, according to new research.
The median net worth of white households is 20 times greater than that of black households and 18 times greater than that of Hispanic households, according to an analysis of newly available 2009 government data by the Pew Research Center, an independent think tank.
What I don’t understand is, why have pundits across the political spectrum blasted the current President for the housing crisis that occurred under the previous President? I’m not just talking about Fox News. I’m talking ABC, NBC, CBS; even the New York Times and MSNBC!
They’re all referencing the same report I read and linked to above. Now, I’m not saying things have gotten any better for Blacks or Hispanics since 2009. They probably haven’t. But that doesn’t answer the question: Why is this report, from 2005 to 2009, bad news for Obama?
